Repositioning is recommended for all newborns; every baby is at risk for developing Flat Head Gemini Syndrome, plagiocephaly or torticollis. Because baby's skulls are soft, yet heavy and necks are weak, infants are vulnerable to developing these conditions in the first few months of life. This is why, proper movement and deliberate repositioning of your infant from birth is one of the key's to the healthy development of your baby. Tortle is a simple, comfortable beanie that is FDA cleared to help prevent and treat Flat Head Syndrome (plagiocephaly and torticollis). Early detection and correct use of Tortle will ensure the best long term results. To properly use the Tortle, you must pull the beanie down as far as possible so the crown of the head is fitted into the top of beanie and ears are covered. If beanie is covering baby's eyebrows, you can fold the front of the beanie. Remember to let your Tortle grow with your baby and purchase the next Tortle size!

Curious as to what size Tortle your little one may need?

** What is Tortle? **

Tortle is an FDA cleared knit beanie that helps prevent and treat mild to moderate Flat Head Syndrome. Tortle makes the job of repositioning newborns safe and easy. It is recommended that all newborns wear a Tortle for for the first 6 months of life to support healthy development. Tortle works by gently deflecting your baby’s head from side to side while they are lying on the back of their head.

** How do I use Tortle? **

To Prevent Flat Head Syndrome Place Tortle support roll behind baby’s ear to aid in the repositioning of baby’s head from left to right. Reposition support roll and infants head every 2-3 hours for a maximum of 6-8 hours a day

To Treat mild to moderate Flat Head Syndrome Place over baby's flat spot, this will keep baby's head off the favored spot. Once the flat spot has corrected, follow instructions for prevention

** Why is it so important to treat this problem? **

Studies show that Plagiocephaly that goes untreated can lead to delays in gross and fine motor skills as well as developmental delays.
